Day 01 Abroad - Delhi On arriving in Delhi you will be meeting our representative. Our representative escorts you to the hotel from the airport. Overnight stay is at the hotel.
Day 02 Delhi Your morning starts off with a sightseeing tour of Old Delhi which was the former centre of Moghul Power, Old Delhi offers glimpses of ancient monumentsand a peep into the heritage past. You pass through narrow streets and bustling bazaars. Spend some time at the Red Fort, built in 1648.Journey on 'cycle rickshaw' for a unique experience from the Red Fort, through the lively "Chandni Chowk" or Silver Street, experiencing the sights and sounds of this very bustling avenue-heading west from the Fort. Visit the great Jama Masjid, completed in 1658 by Shah Jahan who also built the Taj Mahal. Pay a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi Father of the Indian Nation at Raj Ghat, the simple memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. In the afternoon after lunch travel across the stately government buildings of the British Era designed by Lutyens, including the India Gate & the Presidential Palace in New Delhi. Travel to the minaret of QutabMinar for its spectacular view. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03 Delhi - Jaipur In the morning embark on a journey to Jaipur (260 kms). Upon your arrival in Jaipur you will be checking into the hotel. Take a spectacular tour of the city of Jaipur in the afternoon.Also called "The Pink City" Jaipur offers a picturesque view surrounded by rugged hills, dotted with ancient ruined fortresses. Your will taken to tour the imposing City Palace, still home to the Maharaja.Many of the rooms are now open to the public. You can have glimpses of the many antiques and artifacts belonging to the ruling family which are housed here, including a collection of weaponry. Tour the famousHawa Mahal "Palace of the Winds", and famed open-air JantarMantar Observatory to see the vast astronomical instruments. Take a journey on foot through the colourful bazaar before returning to your hotel. Relax overnight at hotel.
Day 04 Jaipur In the morning visit the famous Amber Fort.This fort is situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur City. Ride on the caparisoned elephant for a slow but steady climb up to the main gate from the bottom of the hill, making your entrance in the time honoured fashion. This fort was completed in the early 18th century taking over 100 years to be built.Although now it is deserted bit it offers a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of the Moghul ruling families. Day 05 Jaipur - Agra Morning starts off with your journey to Agra (221 kms), en route visiting the famousFatehpurSikri fort. FatehpurSikriis the deserted, red sandstone city that was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital and palace in the 16th century. Also stopover the BulundDarwaza the largest gateway in the world. Continue drive to Agra and upon arrival – check into the hotel. Late in the afternoon visit the world famous Taj Mahal - This most treasured Moghul monument that was constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal "the lady of the Taj". It has been described as the most fabulous monument ever built for love, for the emperor was brokenhearted when Mumtaz died after 17 years of marriage, during the birth of her 14th child. The central structure has four small domes surrounding the huge, central dome. On top of the tombs of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan are false tombs, a general practice in Indian mausoleums. Day 06 Agra - Delhi Visit the famous Red Fort in the morning. Red Fort lies on the bend of the river Yamuna, almost in the heart of the town. It was builtby Akbarbetween 1563-73. This fortress has one of the finest architectural style. It has magnificent gates and walls of red sandstone and a moat. Afternoon drive to Delhi (203 kms) and upon arrival – check into the hotel. Day 07 Delhi - Srinagar Early morningyou travel to the airport to catch flight to Srinagar.Our representative meets you at the airport and transfers you to the hotel. Day 08 Srinagar Enjoy Morning ride on vibrant wooden craftedShikarason the Dal Lake to enjoy the beauty that God has bestowed on this city. The most spectacular natural feature of Srinagar is the Dal Lake. Spread 6 kms long and 3 kms wide, the lake is seperated into four parts by causeways. The lush green chinars and poplars line the lakeside. The waters of the Dal Lake are dotted with small willow covered islands that give a celestialfeel to the lake on misty mornings. A distinctive feature of the lake is the presence Mihrbahri people. These people trade in flowers, fruits and vegetables grown on floating gardens on these islands in the lake. The Mihrbahris people sell their wares from shikaras, the elongated gondolas that are the popular with tourists for touring the lake. In the afternoon you tour of the world famous Mughal Gardens visiting the NishantBagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Adobe of love). NishatBagh - made in 1633 by Asaf Khan, the brother of Empress NurJehan (Emperor Jahangir's favourite queen), the garden is famous for its terraced layers with water channels flowing down the centre. The larger and more elaborate pleasure garden of the Mughals is the Shalimar Bagh, four kms away. Laid out by Emperor Jahangir for Noor Jahan, this garden is also divided into four terraces and has a water channel running down its centre. On the topmost terrace is the pavilion restricted for the royal visitors. Reinforced by stunning black marble pillars, the pavilion had very small niches that were used to hold fragrant flowers in the day and light up the pavilion with lamps at night. Day 09 Srinagar - Gulmarg - Srinagar In the morning proceed to a full day excursion tour ofGulmarg 'The Pasture of magnificent Flowers' (46 km).
